You’ll need to register and request permission to use, and also credit the BIVB and the photographer, but it’s a big library and many of the images are excellent.
By the way, the note about Caesar’s military camp in 52 BC – where did you find this? I have it in my notes from a document I wrote some time ago, but can’t find my source again. Was it the old Forgeot book?

We do plan, increasingly, to include more of our own photos as they become available. But please note that, in the meanwhile, only images already in the public domain are being used. So we’re not intentionally ripping off anything, just employing (only when necessary) a few stock photos.
